I was his. I was his queen, his precious, his light, and now now I'm nothing. He died right in front of me and I could do nothing. We were supposed to be happy and start a family. We never got to it. After so much fighting his enemies, he got sick and was getting worse. The caretakers tried their best but nothing worked and war was breaking out. My mate wanted to fight, but couldn't. Then one day, my life changed.
He told me that he loved me and he was sorry for what was about to happen. He told me that he would always be with me and get a new mate that would treat me better. I was in shock, speechless to say something. And before I knew it, he ran and jumped off a cliff, killing him instantly. I looked down at the cliff and I was horrified and I started crying. My beloved mate was gone.
The following days were a blur. I don't remember much but I needed to leave immediately. I heard rumors that the war was getting closer and I so I left. I ran until there was no more land and swam into the ocean. That journey was a blur too. As I swam, the thoughts of him flooded my mind and I lost track of how long I was swimming. Before I knew it, I saw land ahead and swam faster.
As soon I reached land, I collapsed from exhaustion and everything went black.
