Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

in the deafening silence;

Rehoboam had taken to pacing the northern border of the Lagoon in the absence of their leader. He didn't know what would have taken Rade from their shores without a word, but he didn't figure it was really his business to know either. Beside the elder figures of Rade and Tyr, Rehoboam was but a summer child, still learning the machinations of a land with a history that stretched decades. All was quiet, both at 'home' and in the Commons, and he found himself bored more often than not. Sometimes he could pester Celestine for company, but the sight of her still filled him with the twin dragons of pride and disgust. It continually unsettled him to know how shaky his own control was over his baser nature, and no amount of brooding had delivered an answer that he could easily point to.

Either way, Rehoboam was certain of one thing: it only mattered to him.

If anyone saw the creature he had become or learned of the things that he had done (Titania's furious face rose in his mind), they would brand him the villain that he was and disregard any hope that he had for his own future. His purpose here had gotten lost in the mundane day-to-day life in the Lagoon, and he no longer understood what the point of staying was.

He couldn't leave, of course, but that knowledge didn't lessen the feeling of being rudderless in a heaving ocean with night fast approaching.

When the call came, the seal-silver stallion pulled away from the treeline he'd been idly contemplating and oriented toward it with a look of suspicion. He did not know Rade well, nor did he know why he had left, but in his experience, being called to a proclamation immediately after a leader returned was not good and often heralded the sharing of bad news.

Frown twisting on his lips, Rehoboam jogged toward the call, but slowed as he witnessed the tender moment between the two. It drove a wedge of homesickness into his heart and he swallowed down the pain, camouflaging it with a soft cough to announce his presence before crossing the small amount of remaining distance. Tyr hadn't arrived yet, but Rehoboam hadn't seen much of the taciturn general and wouldn't have placed money on him showing up to whatever this was. Between his family and wayward son, the man had plenty on his hands to deal with.

"Welcome back," Rehoboam offered, his tone neutral and gaze appraising as it raked over Rade's face. He considers jabbing at the man's condition, or his absence, but opts out of both. "What news have you brought?"
