I think you're right in the sense that we already have a Medicare framework set up to handle this on a nationwide level. Universal Health Care to me has a better ring because it truly sounds inclusive. Everyone from birth to death is on the plan. The whole country.
I'm all for some copays. Maybe $10 a visit or something. A token pittance for pharmaceuticals. Let's do this up like the NHS.
And obviously teeth, eye and brains need to be on this. Cover everything, including catastrophic and preventive, but allow some specialists to remain on the open market. You want the government free heart surgery? All good. You want to go find a paid specialist for that? You're on your own. Replies:
