having a wonderful time!

I DON'T WORRY,
WORRYING DON'T AGREE
THINGS THAT BOTHER YOU, NEVER BOTHER ME!

When the Forest Goddess told Talya it would be impossible to forget Kestrel’s father she sighed rather over dramatically, much like a frustrated child. She might’ve whined and asked to know why it had to be impossible, but the Forest Goddess kept talking and Talya was, as always, a focused audience for her.

The Forest Goddess had babies too? Were they also gods?

“But I always forget things I don’t like.” Talya complained, but it was clear she was already accepting what she was being told. She was looking at her son and frowning, then she nodded slightly in agreement and lowered her nose to put it under Kestrel’s belly. He flicked his ears back grumpily as she poked and prodded and pushed at him until he finally started unfolding his long, awkward legs. This time Talya kept at him until he was finally standing, not letting him get away with it for any longer. The Forest Goddess said Kestrel needed her to be at her best now, so Talya was going to try and do just that.

“Don’t keep him away,” she said quickly, before she really thought about what she was saying, as she looked back at the bay roan mare. “I… I’m mad at him but… I… I want him to see Kestrel.” She confessed. That wasn’t the entire truth, Talya wanted to see Frey again too. “I think he would like him.” She said softly.

Kestrel stumbled and poked his nose around until he found her milk and started suckling. His pale tail flicked greedily at his roan hind.

“His name is Frey.” Talya finally answered. The only name she knew. The one she couldn’t forget. “He lives in the Lagoon.”
