Falls

It was early morning when Xiomara slipped into the sea. The light of the sun was only a dim glow upon the horizon, not quite casting new colors upon the indigo sky. Just enough that she could see the outline of the gentle waves that lapped at her pink chin as she swam for the Crossing Isle. Only when she drew herself up onto the beach, shaking away the excess water, did she pause to glance over her shoulder towards Tinuvel. It hadn’t even been a full season since she had gone to the Cove with her children, and yet she already felt a pull in her chest at being away from it. Home. Tinuvel would always carry a place in her heart no other could.


Still, when the mare brought her skull face forward again, looking out across the dying grasses of Fall, she couldn’t help but raise her head in interest. This was the first time she had come here in countless seasons that she did not have an alternative motive. Xiomara had no sort of obligation or responsibility. She had come here simply because she could, wondering what it was like as a mare and not a leader, to walk these lands. Though, a thought did cross her mind, wondering if Solomon would be worried about where she had gone? Thus far, she had prowled the borders of his territory; habit really, more than fearing or even looking for trouble. Especially with Fall still hanging on, even though she had no intentions of being seduced


The thought brought a soft laugh from her lips before she began to walk further inland, leaving behind the beach. Curiosity bright in her otherwise ice colored eyes.
