Long minutes passed with no immediate answer and the agitation crawled across Rehoboam's painted skin; it was not necessarily in the grullo's nature to abuse (or even really use) his position or demand anything from anyone else. The Lagoon was just as fractured as it had been when he had arrived, if not more so with the glaring absence of their elected leader and the repeated truancy of their General. In truth, the dwindling number of brothers should have probably put the tobiano stallion at ease in regards to his sister, but it did not.

Not at all.

By the time the reddish stallion finally arrived before him from wherever he'd been laying about, Rehoboam had lapsed into uneasy stillness. Anger kept his ears pinned and his discomfort showed in the constant twitching of his coat, as if a thousand flies were constantly buzzing around him, but he did manage to keep himself from lunging at the insolent stallion.

"You have two choices," Rehoboam all but snarled, his lip curling as he eyed the other stallion. Their heights were not so far off, but Frey had the advantage of being sired by the gargantuan General and having the heft and weight of a draft cross. What Rehoboam lacked in size, however, he made up for in fury.

"You can either cut off all ties with my baby sister," Rehoboam began, eyes boring into the other stallion, just waiting to see if he'd make the realization. It didn't even occur to Rehoboam that Frey might have had other lovers; as far as he was concerned, Bellona was the only one that mattered. "Or you can go and take Bellona to somewhere safe and respectable before she gives birth."

As much as Rehoboam would have loved to be a part of his niece or nephew's new life, he knew it wasn't worth the retribution that would eventually follow, nor did he think it was a fate befitting his beautiful little sister. She deserved a stable family home with a partner that would care for her and cherish her, one that would protect and honor her.

It wasn't even that Rehoboam doubted Frey was those things... necessarily. The boy had made a lot of questionable decisions during Reh's time in the Lagoon, but he didn't seem cruel. What Rehoboam was far more worried about was the revolving door of stallions that could come and leave as they chose. All it would take was one, and Bellona's life could be forever changed in the worst way.
