I'm filled with flaws and attitude

If you need perfect, I'm not built for you

The girl was growing bigger each day at this point. Mother tells her constantly how she looks different each morning. She tells her daughter how beautiful she is and how foolish her fathers were for missing these precious moments with her. Only daddy Arneis knew how special it was to keep her close. To see the daily changes in his daughter and that spark of curiosity grow. But a part of her aches for the rest of them. It might not be as bad if her mother didn't mention them all the time. How bad they were for leaving, how bad some were for never showing up at all.

It was daddy Orphiel that hurt the most.

Ra was another strong sting of abandonment, but he had never been fatherly towards her like Orphiel had. She used to play every morning with daddy Orpheil! He was so gentle and sweet and kind...who couldn't ask for a better father? Then something happened one day and he was gone. It was around the same time they left the Thicket so Devi wonders if that decision to leave her birth home is what made both Orphiel and Ra leave. At least daddy Orpheil had said goodbye...

Now that winter was over (mother was too heavy in foal to keep up with her all the time), Devi often goes to the sea and just waits. Orphiel said he would come, but she was slowly losing her faith. Some of it might be because she started watching for him earlier than springtime, to which mother tried to correct her. But then spring came and he never showed up. Mother was doubtful by this point that he would ever come back, but Devi still had faith. Or she did at that point as now a whole week has passed. A sigh leaves the filly's lips as she waits at the edge of the tree line for a glimmer of hope among the sea.

If mother knew she was here again waiting (she hides by the trees so maybe she won't see) she would get scolded. She snorts at the thought, but suddenly a small figure over the waves catches her attention. Devi holds her breath as the horse leaves the sea for the beach because she knows it is him. She could tell by the color, but she waits until her head catches up with her heart. Orphiel calls to her, her heart leaps, and she runs faster than she ever has before to greet him. "You came!" She exclaims as she races down the beach towards him. Devi crashes into his chest rather bluntly with tears streaking her pale cheeks. "I knew you would come," she whispers as she digs her nose into his chest.
