Freezing from the inside out. Burning from the outside in. Bane can exist as both, especially as the shadows and red stained sunset drip across her features. High headed. Teeth flashing. They seem to glint in the light as it slips away. Reds and purples as a bruise across her champagne coat, but there is something far more intense at work here. Something far more wild. Something worse. Bane would make it all worse.
Maybe it’s her intention after all.
His words make the codebreaker’s skin crawl. Something deep inside her pitches and rolls. Ears pinned clear to her skull, and disgust painted across her features. “You’re fucking vile,” and she means it. Another one. Entitled. They were all entitled fucks. Children. Men. Men as children. Bane is nearly sick with it, and she longs to strike him. Reach out, strike, take. She won’t strike to draw his blood. Not yet, lest he be allowed to touch her.
The ragged stallion has the gaul to smile. If Bane could have thrown up, it may well have happened. Wrong with you, well, she’s emotionally unavailable for one. For another, she’d try and beat to a pulp any stallion who came near enough to lay a hand on her. Brash, bold… she can’t help herself. In the moment, the champagne mare takes a broad step forward and strikes out with her teeth in an attempt to force the stranger away.
“My only problem is you,” maybe it’s a low blow, but she’s nearly blind in her rage. “I am the Codebreaker of the Vulcans and I don’t have time for your bullshit.” Would she remain the Codebreaker after the passing of summer? Who was to say. But for now, she will wield the weight of her title as a weapon. That and her silver tongue… well, what could go wrong. (Everything.)
