She realized her mistake almost as soon as the nicker had left her lips. Rather than the familiar forms of her herdmates, a slender stallion stepped out of the shadows, his thin coat marking him an obvious outsider. The tobiano mare stiffened, her ears pinning backwards as she took a singular step back, uncertain of his intentions.

"Hello? Can I help you?" Approaching at her summons left enough doubt in her mind as to his intentions (maybe he was friendly?) that she didn't try to flee immediately. This was her home, after all. Her sanctuary and safe place. However, as he continued to close the distance without speaking, it became more evident to her that he was dangerous. And as he began to snap in her direction, she was forced to make a decision.

Kohelet was not foolish enough to think she could take on the stallion of rippling muscle before her, nor was she at all willing to initiate any physical contact given the season. Her options were limited to either trying to run from him or going with him, and she had no intention of doing the latter. However, she also knew that Fell was home, and that if she could just distract the stallion long enough, her handsome stallion would come to her rescue.

"Fell!" She cried out for him, even as she dashed sideways, trying to angle herself parallel to the beach since the sooty stallion was blocking any escape toward the herd. She had faith that her stallion would arrive before she reached the Cove, but if things went poorly, she might be able to get her father's help.

As it were, Fell was on the other stallion before Kohelet had even finished crying out, and her path changed again. Now that the odds were even, the fury the little black mare felt at Isiksiz's audacity could rise above her self-preservation and she doubled back to launch herself into the fray. In truth, she was probably more of a liability than any kind of help, but it did not stop her from doing her best to leave her own mark of punishment on the bold stallion's coat.
