It had been a hard trek for him, of course. Difficult to suffer the cold of the water again, hard to traverse the borderline between the Badlands and Desert to reach the Dunes, to not overlook a mare seemingly attempting to sneak away from someplace. She’d called herself Fearne and seemed rather happy to accompany him, making him concerned about whether she did this out of panic or out of actual informed-choice, but who was he to look a gift mare in the mouth, right? She wanted away far enough to evade someone named Aries. He wanted a woman who wished to have a strong partner who would keep her safe so that he could offer a home with Fell willingly.
That his daughter had overheard his description of Fell, he was simply too baffled to elaborate on verbally. He’d only just reunited with her in the Dunes - been told of her mother’s struggles on her own. Had it not been for the fact she ultimately guilted him for his years long absence, he’d not have been so easily swayed. Not two days after his original arrival on the Bay shores, here he was again.
He does not stick too close to Fearne as they hit land, trying to respect her space as well as avoid jealousy in Fell if it could be avoided. Mrgasira does stick closeby, apparently aware of his state of being regardless of her stubborn and blunt determination to come here in spite of his concerns.
The water clings to him and he shakes lazily before letting up a friendly call, faltering only a little as Mrgasira shakes herself to his left in full view and he realized that Antares must have felt much this same way -- only worse. He could have tried to convince her out of it. He could have argued - Antares had not had the same gift of choice. "Mrgasira, stay close. Wait until they say it is alright." He says this low, but stern, ears flicking two different directions.
