Sakhmet
..mare..arabian..grey..15.1 hh..

When the stallion moves from the water, Sakhmet lifts her gaze from its reflecting pool to look upon the familiar face. Though it had been many seasons; too many that she didn’t bother to count, the mare would always recognize him as he did her. The markings upon his skin stand apart from anyone else. Not that the other brothers didn’t have their own distinguishing markings as well.

Delicate ears remain tipped forward as solemn eyes watch quietly while he speaks. Sakhmet is not the same fire and fury that they had left behind, though she is not without emotion completely. As Antares speaks of their troubles and misfortunates, the grey mare can feel the turmoil within her breast as she did before. Only that it speaks in whispers, instead of raging through her like a wicked sandstorm. It is only the mention of Eness’ name that causes the pale mare to finally turn her gaze away; her head tipping with it instead of reaching out to exchange breaths.

Did Eness truly miss her presence, after all this time?

“I was not the one to leave home.” Sakhmet pointed out as she looked to the stallion once more. Whatever their reasons to have been absent from Salem, she had not strayed. “I will return to the family, if that is what you want of me.” Slowly, Sakhmet extended her light grey nose towards the stallion. Accepting what she knew she would have never turned away.
