Did any recruits, experience what the "little Hitler"
Instructors, called the black hole of Calcutta ? (Fenham Barracks 1961)
Well what it was really was a tunnel aprox 5ft deep and 20yds long and usually with a few inches of water
and it was totally black inside
we had to go into it about 4 at a time and crawl through it,should have been easy ?
well no the tunnel was not straight going through right angles then a left
I got worse, I followed sleepy Wilson and he suffered a major panic attack in the tunnel
Screamed his b*******ks off!!
I screamed back at him to move forward to get us out of it,no move.
A very little idiot Cpl, grew in size,to become the biggest idiot I have ever known,he threatened to throw a thunder flash in, Luckily the lads behind us had extracted themselves backibg out(it was hard enough going forward)
I shout at Sleepy the sgt had told me to stick my bayonet into his back side ,still screaming and crying he inched himself forward and some how we go out of it
It was p***** down when I immerged from the tunnel,never have I been so glad to feel wind and rain on my poor,(by now)by black face !)
