GUIDELINES

- the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
- anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
- adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
- the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
- the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
moonshine and black sky;

Though the waves hush in her ears, she feels his presence before he speaks. A lonely soul to convene with hers. She knows him. They've met, or at least awkwardly passed by each other once before. She'd seen him when he did not want to be seen, and that was that. But she does know who he is. Zevulun's son, though it feels odd to think of him that way grown stallion that he is. Guardian of the Prairie. Night watch.

Any other night she might smile at him. Tonight it is all she can do to pull her haloed face from the moonlight to look at him.

"Couldn't sleep? Or are you turning nocturnal too?" he asks and she feels the tears brimming in her eyes catching the shine of the stars.

"No," she manages before her heart betrays her and she inhales sharp and short as the tears flood forth. She looks away, body shaking joltily with each sob she tries to stifle. "I'm sorry," she says, not looking at him. "I thought I was done with this." But he's caught her off guard, and for all her show of strength for her family, all of her anger, this is what she really is: broken.
