They were supposed to leave a long time ago, but they hadn't. Kanti had entered a depression stage, and she had trouble getting out of it. She would spend most of the day watching the waves. She was waiting for somebody to show up, but who? Qae noticed this and asked her. She said that she was waiting for him to come out of the waves to greet her. And when the supposed stallion didn't show up after the sunset, she would cry. Qae was a bit frustrated by this. His mother was going through something, but how could he help her? She didn't really have any friends, he was not allowed to leave the island after all. Kanti was very stern about him leaving and warn him that he could get killed. She was always watching him like a hawk and Qae was nervous. He wanted to see his father, but that trip has been put on hold.

It was about mid-afternoon when the duo started going to the beach. They started walking through the snow and Qae was behind his mother. He was getting tired of this, the same trip every day to the beach, waiting for nobody to show up. "Ma, you do this every day! Ever since we got here! Who is coming!?" Qae quipped. "The one that I loved the most. He told me to wait for him.." Kanti said sadly and there were tears coming out of her eyes. Qae noticed this. She was in mourning, for someone who died long before he was born. He dare would not ask who, maybe in the future. Kanti stopped dead in her tracks and looked around. "I think I know that smell.. Is it..." She could see another horse in the distance, was it Rafe? "Ra.. Rafe? Is that you?" She called out. Qae tilted his head and looked at his mother. "Dad is here!? You are sure it's dad?" Qae was excited. Hopefully, he could meet his father
