This will never end 'cause I want more

If I had a heart I could love you

Numb was the only feeling to describe him. The world past him by in a blur. One second the Inlet family was small with very little children. He blinks and now it seems the goals were taking over. Most of them were considered young adults now, but Sig still saw them as the grandchildren of Solomon. The children of a forever large family that would continue to grow for another century. Very unlike his true bloodline that ran through his veins. Some horses of his bloodline still roamed the islands, but he could feel them fading.

And he was no help in saving them.

Sure, he tried to woo a mare or two when he was coming into age. Nothing had ever worked for him so he slipped back into his hate of the whole thing. Family, babies, love, the whole thing. None of it was meant for him. Sig was to wander the Inlet without a care what happened next. If his 'sister' lost the Inlet so be it. If she kept on her crazy scheme of adding her bloodline to all the others on the islands that was her own cause. He had nothing to do with it. Sigmund just existed among her herd like a shadow in the background.

Moonlight cast a soft glow on his back as he swims toward the main island. It has been some time since he has been there and not being able to sleep warranted a good reason for a visit. It was the meadow that beckons him. Just like it once did a few years back. Fate was bringing him back towards his sperm donor, or so he thought. Sigmund exits the cold sea and shakes his coat free of any loose water droplets. He does not hesitate long on the beach before slowly walking towards the open meadow.

It was clear someone has been through here. He could see the dents of a body in the grass and even where hooves had pressed the grass down. There was even the faint scent of blood? He wasn't sure because it was faint. Curiosity brings him forward as he follows the trail the previous horse walked. Eventually, he comes upon the owner of the scent as she lays nestled in the grass. The young girl's eyes were closed with slumber as the stars shine on her glistening blue coat. His eyes silently study what he could see of the wounds from where he stood. He did not recognize the marks on her skin so cuiosity once again brings him closer.

His nose lowers to sniff her neck, but this gave him no answers.
