Re(4): Truth In Advertising

Too long ago for me to remember much of Western Auto, now.

I lived in Exeter, New Hampshire, when I was 10-11-12 years old (early 1960s). I remember riding my bicycle to what we then called "downtown."

I remember going to Western Auto and F.W.Woolworth's in Exeter. Western Auto was more of a hardware store than an auto parts store, then. Woolworth's was what we called "a department store."

My Dad's work transferred us to a few other places. When we moved to Kansas City in the late 1960s, I think Western Auto had already been gobbled up by Sears. I have no idea what became of Western Auto or Woolworth's, but it is fun to still see the big Western Auto sign on Grand.
