Re(1): Are We Going To MAKE It???

TV news people have sacrificed their objective ideals to promote viewer loyalty, in a shortsighted attempt to win their hearts for ratings loyalty.

Reporters were trained 50-75 years ago to be just objective. It was rare when news operations would be so bold as to editorialize, other than from the station manager...but NEVER from news people whose objectivity was to be beyond reproach.

The networks started it, mixing news and opinion...and the tabloids opining to the conservatives has destroyed our expectations. They paid utter lip service to the journalistic idea, Fair and Balanced. Fox never intended their channel to be that. Those who coined those strategies of persuasion learned those tactics from WWII propaganda. Our side and the Germans got very good at it and the news outsets got confused with their role in society. Don't expect it to come back anytime soon.

Even MSNBC, a subchannel of what was once the big two networks (NBC and CBS), joined the trend towards advocacy journalism.

I was trained better and to recognize bias in order to avoid it. Todays predominantly feminist female anchors make no secret of their sexist and political views, starting with Mika Brzezinski, married to Morning Joe Scarborough but all the evening prime timers are blatantly feminist and anti-abortionist.

I had covered back to before the Roe V Wade decision. Such controversial issues can be covered well without taking an obvious bias. In the 70s, we did that, even tho feminism began getting public support as early as 1968. But now anchors praise each other to see who can carry the progressive standard for one and all to see. They are not demonstrating enlightenment, they are not true to their craft. Instead, they are demonstrating gander loyalty even tho they lecture us about the unacceptability of our tribal instincts.
