It didn't take very long for the leader that Nahawi knew was named Bacardi to arrive. His blue gaze locked on the painted forest stallion as he held back more tears, not wanting to cry in front of anyone. He had wanted to raise Amarinora on his own, but it wasn't safe for her to be there. She wasn't old enough to survive without a nurse mare and with already having her as long as he had, he was putting her safety on the line and not even on purpose.

Hearing the tone with the words, Nahawi stood tall and hid the wince that wanted to hold his body. He wished in that moment he was a stronger horse, but he knew he wasn't as strong mentally as he would need to be once he returned home. “I come seeking help.” Nahawi called out over the howling wind, his body shifting to allow his daughter to seek warmth against his side. He was trying to keep her warm, but he knew he would need to step deeper into this forest to do so and he wasn't about to push his luck.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw his friend slowly head down and stop beside Bacardi, the black stallion saying nothing. Nahawi was thankful for his friend, but he knew Voyager would protect his home before he trusted the lagoon in its entirety. Nahawi could do his best to change that place, but it was always going to have that nasty muck that many would never let go.

“It's not safe at home for my daughter and I knew if Voyager lived here that this place was the best for a safe raising of her.” Nahawi wasn't trying to be a pain, but his daughter was probably the most important thing in the world to him right now. Knowing he wouldn't be able to raise her broke his heart, but he couldn't show that.
