GUIDELINES

- the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
- anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
- adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
- the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
- the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors

Concern changed Castillon’s features almost immediately after Aura shook her head and then broke into tears. He loathed to see anyone crying, but something always struck him a little extra hard when it was a mare. Though he was certain the hatred burning in his heart for the silver-haired beast couldn’t grow any more, he felt as though it doubled at the first tremble of her body, and the heartbreaking sound of the sob that pushed past her lips.

“Shhh,” he hushed softly, not even aware he was speaking or moving - all at once it was as if the shock of watching her fall apart passed, and Castillon’s instincts to care and protect those he looked after kicked in. The buckskin stallion moved slowly close - slow enough that she could rebuke his approach if she didn’t want any physical contact - and reached to brush his lips over her tear-streaked cheek, disrupting the path they’d left. His warm breath stirred her forelock.

Castillon stepped closer, moving so he could stand side-long of her rather than in front, so that if she wanted to remain standing she could lean herself against him and he would make himself a sturdy support for her. If the weight of her grief was too much to bear and she began to sink, he could go with her, providing a cushion of his weight so she met the ground with some control rather than falling too hard and possibly injuring herself. Whatever she needed, the buckskin stallion was immediately attuned to. He wanted to help, even if he’d never been in this exact situation before. The golden heart that burned so bright in his chest took over all else; Castillon readily stepped up to the role of a hero, and he would gladly be one for Aura, should she want him to be.
