The fact that he humors her teasing with a smile and a laugh instills a little bit more goodwill in the mare toward the red stranger. Some these days were so serious and could not laugh at trifles. When his eyes trail up to the moon above them once more, Ararat watches him curiously. She is still poised for flight, though casual and relaxed she might seem. Her muscles screamed either for movement or true rest. Ararat allowed for the latter.
She wondered what his thoughts were but did not pry despite her flare of curiosity. Ararat observed quietly and had not moved from her spot when the stallion spoke to her again. The dark of her ears tip toward him. The mare debated acting like she was truly deliberating over whether or not to tell him her name but decided against it. The original quip had been enough for her. What a thrill that he did not ask after her name again and instead divulged the thoughts she had wondered about just moments before. What good fortune. Perhaps the moon could listen...
Had she wondered the same thing about living on the moon once? Surely she had. If not recently, then maybe as a filly. The night sky had always fascinated her. He spoke of the peace that living up there might provide. Ararat didn't bother to rationalize another dreamer's thoughts. For instance, the moon was all white. If grass was green, then the mood had no grass, or tress, or even water! Then again, she supposed it was possible for foliage to come in different colors. Ararat suspected that this wasn't really about wanting to live on the moon though.
