Candle in the dark

Bacardi let out a soft sigh as Toland sprinted around him. The colt seemed never ending with energy as of late. His muscles were growing, his grey coat mangy as he lost his baby fur. He was a whole handful and a half, but even tired, Bacardi wouldn’t trade it for anything else. “Lets go see what the other two are doing.” The stallion suggested, not needing to elaborate who he meant. Instantly Toland whipped around to him, his lupine eyes sparkling. “Yea!” He agreed, giving a prancing circle around his sire before stopping at his shoulder, waiting for Bacardi to lead them.

The stallion always seemed to know where his herd members were, and it didn’t take him long to find Syrah. He wasn’t surprised to find Voyager with her, since the dark giant seemed keen on being their silent protector. “Mind watching one more?” He asked good naturedly, but seriously. Bacardi was tired and needed a good rest, and keeping an eye on Toland could be taxing at times.

Not seeming to care what the adults said, Toland bolted passed them towards the fillies. More than eager to play with his seemingly never ending energy. Maybe once he was old enough, Burn would let him tag along for border patrol.
