Fell

It’s strange to think that anything about Raegar is unfamiliar at this point. Fell knows him almost as well as one of his own mares from all of the times they’ve bashed each other into the dirt, but during all of those interactions they’ve never actually spoken. Fell’s silence isn’t exactly an option, and Raegar has always seemed to prioritize a solid uppercut over a scathing taunt (for which Fell is grateful). So, when he hears the gruff, mostly unfamiliar voice of a stallion in the Bay, he bristles immediately.

As he approaches the source of the voice, intending to send him on his way expeditiously either back into the sea or into the ground altogether, Fell catches the sound of Sinaet’s voice in response. She’s prickly, not exactly warm to the intruder, but she’s clearly not afraid of him. Fell slows, listening. How on earth had a strange stallion gotten this far into the Bay without sounding the alarm? He must have waltzed right in like he was familiar with the place, and no one must have cared to stop him. The situation is so strange that he is too bewildered to be angry just yet.

It takes more than confusion to throw Fell off his game, though, and despite the lack of fury he feels at an unwelcome male visitor, his instinct is to fight now and ask questions later. Sinaet isn’t his, and she doesn’t sound particularly uncomfortable, but Fell isn’t interested in other stallions feeling welcome in the Bay. If Sinaet wants to flirt, she can do it somewhere else. He picks up the pace again, and in a moment he is rounding a corner of dense pine growth and butting his way into the other stallion’s game.

When he sees that it’s Raegar, everything clicks: the brazenness of his entrance, the lack of urgency in alerting Fell to a strange stallion. The Bay is decently populated, and Fell is certain someone would have seen Raegar come up from the beach. He halts, then lifts his head and pins his ears at the intruding stallion, blowing a dramatic cloud of steam in his direction with a loud huff. Clearly, if Raegar had wanted to take a mare from him, he could have done so by now; he might not have even needed to force Sinaet to come with him. He must have come for a fight.

Fell smirks in a sorry-not-sorry for messing up your game manner. He’s invigorated by the season, but instead of coming at Raegar like he intends to drive him off, Fell charges in the direction he’s currently facing, which is somewhat toward the Bay interior. At this point, he’s not genuinely worried about any of his mares coming into contact with the burly overo stallion (and clearly neither are they) and he knows that trying to keep him out is useless, so he doesn’t bother. The only adjustments he makes to his position are to avoid pulling Sinaet into the fight.
