Vadim

stallion | draft x | dunalino pintaloosa | 18hhs

When Esmeray turned to look at him with surprise in her pretty green eyes, the butterflies grew so large in his stomach that Vadim was certain he might fly away. Yet, her first murmured words were quick to cage them and subdue them. A multitude of excuses quickly formed that wanted to escape his grey lips, but each blocking the other until he had no words to say. Choked on what would be pointless reasons on why he had kept her waiting for far too long.

It didn’t slow the stallion though, as he continued his steady walk to her as she came to greet him as well. Just as she stopped, so did Vadim, and he extended his nose to the young mare to exchange breaths. The pollen that coated her delicate muzzle was both sweet, and also tickled his nose, and Vadim had to fight the urge to sneeze after the exchange.

“Hi” he said warmly, finally finding his voice. Ears forward, eyes bright, Vadim hoped he looked as happy as he felt upon finding her, despite all of the other feelings that had rippled through him. “A promise is a promise, and I would never forget about you.” Vadim assured, although he didn’t want to sound too sappy, it was probably too late for that now. “I thought you might’ve forgotten about me.” Vadim teased lightly, but it wasn’t far off the mark. As long as he had taken to accomplish his goals, it wouldn’t have surprised him if Esmeray had already found another stallion to fulfill her needs. It was only by her scent that didn’t carry another that Vadim dared to hope she did wait on him.
