Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

She had been grazing, hovering close to the foal sleeping a few scant paces away in the grass, when the sounds of splashing forced her head upright. It could only be Peyote since he never let anyone else get close enough to their island. Immediately her attention flew to his face, and her gravity centered around his presence.

The black mare had been forced to learn how to adapt to his word and unspoken whim. Getting lost in his will and submitting was what had made life so easy and bearable here. It was why Vervain was so confused at the energy he exuded, the wildness in his eyes, and the command to take their daughter and go to the Prairie. The emotion was obvious on her dark face. Peyote had made it very clear since they met that her place was here with him. It had been a hard lesson to learn, but she'd long since stopped asking to go home. Why release her now? What had happened?

Old, ingrained fear flared to not immediately obey his command. "I.. don't understand," she murmured, casting a wayward glance at their sleeping daughter to make sure she was still sleeping. Honey eyes returned to him, searching his face. Some unfounded sting of rejection pricked at the thought that he was sending her away. She'd been molded into everything he wanted. He was everything to her, and now... she was just supposed to go back? Vervain shook her head slightly, unable to process what he'd said. "I'm supposed to be here with you?"

Vervain
