i. the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
ii. anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
iii. adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
iv. the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
v. the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors

His anger was quick to match her own, but telling her that her feelings were a tantrum was nearly Hirka�s undoing. She didn�t lunge at him like he thought she might. Even though she was furious with him, more so than she had ever been, Hirka still didn�t wish him bodily harm. It felt like in that moment, as he threw his words back at her, that they barely knew one another at all despite the seasons and child they shared together.

�You�re foolish, Castillon.� She stated flatly. �The only way the Lagoon will change, is if you become the Boss. Your time there will be pointless. Clearly they have replaced the peaceful stallion for someone they think suits them better. The only way the Lagoon will leave us alone, is when you become a seasoned stallion with enough experience for them to know they will lose. Why else would they have never bothered your father?� Hirka felt the hurt in her grow stronger, her anger flooding to cover it as she said �And just because they cannot keep you, does not mean you will come home. You don�t have the strength to walk away from Aura for the rest of us.�

�You should go say goodbye to your daughter. We have nothing else to say to one another.� Hirka gave a jerk of her head in the direction Eriana was, before she turned and walked away.
