Oswego Challenge Event 3 IP: 66.67.82.108 Posted on July 21, 2024 at 02:08:08 AM by NYIND
After attending both Friday and Saturday Shows I feel a mistake was made by not having this make-up date scheduled with the $10K to Win (3rd and 4th Challenge combined). Appears to be no schedule conflict with ISMA/MSS. I feel it hurt car counts for both nights (top and tail wings). A few notables missing on Friday Night - McVetta and Reed especially - not sure why? One might say for 22 cars for Friday's ISMA/MMS was not bad - it appeared to have a couple of cars there just to take the green. Purse on Friday was outstanding thought more would be there looking for a Big Payout.
I will admit I am not in the know why this decision was made but, on the surface, - I feel it affected the show. It is also amazing to me that the 350 class is not growing. Only 7 cars started the feature Saturday Night. Only 12 on Friday night with a bonus paid for both nights best combined finish for 1st and 2nd place. However, there was attrition from Foday's show but 12 cars to me after a few years of the 350's seems to point out car counts are not growing). Pits seemed full but stands were short on fans in the stands on Friday night. I am glad we have this speedway but somehow there is concern on many minds how the Supers will survive. Again, seen little publicity unless you tuned into the speedway web page. How do you reach out to NEW fans when publicity is lacking. Replies:
