Oh, you want battle?
I'll give you war.
OOC: For rules purposes, he is aiming for Coin since Thalia isn't a member of the Bay and is too young. <3 She can come with if she chooses (if its successful), but she does not have to.
I won. I won't lie, finding out that I had succeeded in my quest to gain a rank came as a bit of a shock but I was not the least bit dismayed. It turns out that being a nuisance for the territories was working out well in my favor, and I had no intentions of stopping any time soon.
With Hiyori and Rafe safely sequestered, I ventured out again. As Tinuvel loomed before me, I let my mind wander. Ideally, I would find another stallion to raid to bolster the Lagoon's numbers, but as I had seen on my previous scouting trips, lone stallions were hard to find. Mares, especially those with children in tow, were everywhere and much easier to manipulate back to the Lagoon. It wasn't ideal really - I was up to my gills in mares that I had indirectly been responsible for bringing home - but it was better than nothing.
Thus, when I caught the faint sound of feminine voices through the treeline, I lightened my step and crept closer with my eyes trained through the dense foliage. What greeted my gaze was a loudly painted filly and a pretty golden mare conversing and I found my eyes locking onto the adult. She'd look great among the dense green and blue of the Lagoons, and I could imagine that the behemoth stallion that guarded these lands would likely come looking for her soon enough. Perhaps then we could bargain our way into getting one of his sons instead.
Only, as I got closer, recognition dawned and caused my progress to halt momentarily. That was Coin. I wasn't related to her, not really, but I might as well have been. She'd been in my father's herd before I was... so what was she doing here?
Right. The feud.
Snorting back a laugh at the evidence of my father's inability to protect his family, I did my best to creep around them without being noticed. That way, when I did finally lunge toward them - mouth agape - it was to push them toward the ocean rather than away. Might as well make my job a little easier. I attempted to rush toward the golden mare with my ears tucked back, aiming to sidle alongside her hip to control her movement while driving her forward with a nip (or two, or three) to her shoulder. "Let's go sissy, no time to waste."
