Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

I want your heart on a platter open

Oh, you want battle?
I'll give you war.

"Come out little mouse," I murmured, my gaze tracking back and forth through the dense fog that had descended on the Lagoon this morning. The air felt stagnant despite the season, the unusual warmth making the still water bleed humidity until the fog gathered just above the surface of the water, destroying any ability to see. I had already almost walked into a few different low-hanging strands of spanish moss before the soft sucking sound of hooves moving through mud had caught my attention.

I had no idea who it was, but I was bored and they promised at least some iota of distraction from my new mantle of responsibility. Unfortunately, it turned out, being promoted came with responsibilities I wasn't actually all that interested in. Running border checks and searching for escapees wasn't actually all that fun in reality, but I didn't really mind too much. It meant that I could keep my little trophy wife and raze the islands for would-be captives so I couldn't really complain.

Plus the ego boost had certainly been nothing to sneeze at.

A part of me almost hoped that it was Hiyori up ahead. My little run-in with Vogue had left me curious about some of the finer aspects of courtship in autumn. I doubted that my little companion would be very interested in my company, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try. After all, we'd already come to one agreement so far. I'm sure we could find another.

Either way, I was mostly curious about who was ahead of me. The Lagoon was teaming with life again and I never knew whether I'd be coming across a brother, a trinket, or a child these days. Long gone were the days when the only living soul around was Garmr, working to free his brethren and to better our group as a whole. Better, of course, being wholly subjective. We were bad, and we reveled in it.
