GUIDELINES
common sense, really
i. the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
ii. anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
iii. adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
iv. the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
v. the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
forever is composed of nows;

No, Roisin thought desperately as she relied purely on muscle memory and her training, her emotions far too tangled to assist her in the fight. You can't have her. Her heart hammered in her chest as she watched the would-be raider stumble at her attack. Normally such a direct blow would have sparked a feeling of pride or victory, but only cold dread filled her and a sense of panic that seemed out of proportion to the scene at hand.

It was one bachelor. Quickly found and even more quickly dealt with, and yet the drumbeat running through her mind had found words: You can't have her, I just found her.

It didn't take long for the Lagoonie to realize he was out skilled and outmatched, and Roisin pulled up as he suddenly began to make for the ocean. He called out a parting threat that coaxed a glare from the dun mare, but she didn't dignify it with a response as Zevulun pursued him.

She wanted to spit some admonishment or rejoinder, but her attention had already switched back to the frosted mare as she pivoted to face her. Her gaze swept quickly over her, searching for any sign of a wound or injury, and then fixated on her face. A number of emotions swam across Roisin's expression - ranging from worry to excitement, to fear, and then finally settling on embarrassment. Heat touched her furred cheeks and she sucked in an awkward breath with a twitch of her dark tail.

"Hello... again." She swallowed, one ear still locked on the direction the Lagoonie had gone. "Are you alright?"

i'm trying to be brave, because when i'm brave
other people feel brave, but i feel like my heart
is caving in
