GUIDELINES
common sense, really
i. the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
ii. anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
iii. adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
iv. the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
v. the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
and if i need to rearrange my particles, i will for you [cas + family]

Aura

"Mommy, Mommy, look," came the twin chiming voices of my daughters. They had both immediately scrambled up the dunes as soon as the ocean loosed her hold on their ankles. Meanwhile, I was huffing and puffing, saltwater flying in a fine spray from my nostrils as I, too, climbed onto the solid ground on the Prairie.

I smiled at them though, laughing softly as my lungs fought to keep up with the effort. They might not be able to hear me from the few yards apart we were, but I laughed anyway. How could I not? We were home. All of us. Their births had taken such a heavy toll on me, leaving the whole of my body weak and trembling for weeks.

The girls had been so small.. It had both frightened and fascinated me to see their little golden throats rise and fall as they slept. It frightens me still to look away when night comes.. My eyes shift to Castillon, my heart. He had been so staunchly at my side, so giving and attentive. I don't know how I could have done it without him.

"Welcome home, my darlings," I tell them all, these three bright lights I have been blessed with.
