Isn't life full of surprises? (HELIOS) Posted on November 11, 2024 at 05:28:59 AM by Gloriosiah
It was a simple afternoon. Night if you like. Early evening was more like it when she had come across him. Not intentional really but, it had happened all the same. It had not been a one night stand. That had never been her style. There had been something about him. The painted lady really couldn't put her hoof on it. Personality perhaps? She isn't particularly sure what drew her to him. It didn't really matter when you thought about it though. Not this time. It was different and that is all that mattered. He wasn't just another stallion. He wasn't some push and shove kind of guy.
No. This was different. And that was really what mattered when it came down to it. Gloriosiah didn't just dance around with anyone. Well, not usually. Hadn't she this time though? Another stallion. One she hardly knew and here she was carrying another foal. Not that it was a bad thing for her. It suited her. Motherhood that was. She was a very nurturing and compassionate creature. Glory wasn't moody normally. She wasn't cruel. Very far from that honestly.
Gloriosiah knew that Goose had trailed after her. It didn't really surprise the painted lady. He tended to stick close to her. She found it endearing really. They'd come from the same home after all. Goose had been one of the first stallions she'd met on the islands aside from Liland and Cinnamon a ways back. It still hurt though it seems so long ago now. Sometimes though; heartache took quite a while to truly get over. Gloriosiah hadn't really ever clicked with another like she had then. Why? She isn't sure that is something she'll ever truly decipher. Did it really matter though? Liland had never come back and obviously that spoke louder than words ever could. Another drifter right? Another heartbreak. Wasn't it always the same?
One got attached and then their heart got broken again. Why did they continue to fall into place just like that? It was a pattern but, it was always like some chain reaction. One they could never break. Why? What drove one's heart to fall into place only to be broken again and again? Would it be the same this time? Would she be driven to love again only to be broken down again? Glory doesn't know. How could she? She didn't even really know him yet but for a name and a face to match it to. A personality that seemed sincere and kind enough. Time would tell though as it always did.
Gently she moves; gliding smoothly over the ever shifting granules beneath her hooves. Ears swivel to catch the sounds around her. A bustling herd it seemed. There was silence in flitting moments but they seemed rare. Glory liked this. She is a very social; friendly creature after all. Sincere and always concerned of the well-being of others. It is just her way. Nurturing of course. Your typical herd mare. There's a lot more to her though. So much more. Only time would tell how this story really progressed though. Isn't that always how it went though? Stories were meant to grown and change. Never staying the same. How boring would that be right?
Finally she pauses. Gloriosiah calls out her tone clear and soothing. Calling for him. There would be time enough to meet her companions in this new home later. Right now she wanted to see Helios. It was his home after all. Helios had become her stallion as soon as he'd gifted her the life within her abdomen. A child in which she would treasure as she had the first. Poem had not followed her here but that was okay. The mare had her own life now where that may be. Attention shifts back to him now. Was he home?
"Hello? Helios? Are you here?" Then to wait. Calmly she stood. Watching and waiting for his appearance. Her eyes shift over the landscape. It was different but Gloriosiah could get used to different couldn't she? It isn't like she hadn't done this before. Change was always hard but it was never something she couldn't get used to. Life always changed and usually it was for the better. Replies:
