Such a blast of Fresh Air ASPHARA Posted on November 11, 2024 at 06:53:55 AM by Polar
Polar had never meant for it to happen. His heart had grown so fond for Asphara and then, he had taken his leave. It had never been intentional though. Polar would never have abandoned her. Why? What had initially caused him to take his leave from her? What had brought such vile actions? She could have black listed him. Asphara could have gone the other direction when he had come back to the islands. His precious Asphara could have shaken him from her thoughts. Instead though; she had spent a night with him. A wonderous night. Not this time. Polar vowed his protection of her now. Whatever may happen the color splashed roan would never leave her side again.
His life was here with her. Wherever their home turned out to be now. It was together and nothing less. Polar could never apologize enough and he knew this. Somehow though; he had been given another chance to make things right. He would not fail this time. He had asked her to come to the Falls. He had a few things to check up on and then, he hoped he'd find her there. That she would again come to him as she had that night a few nights back. He'd made sure that their family would begin. His promise because now, he couldn't leave. Every reason to stay. She was enough but now, there family would begin. A child he was sure would be growing inside to one day in the near future come into the world to join them.
Nostrils flared as a familiar scent found its way into his nostrils. A scent he'd never forget and a smile brushed over his lips. Those chocolate eyes searched the surrounding area near him until his eyes fell on her familiar form. "My sweet Asphara. I can never apologize enough. There are not enough explanations. Some I cannot even give." He pauses then and his eyes fall downward. A moment and they are closed as the memories come flooding back. They had not approached and now he feels at a loss. He should have been there. They should have gone into the herd gathered around him. His father.
Solomon
Polar had not though. He had chosen to stay back alongside his mother whom had not the nerve or courage to approach. It was not something that Polar had ever dreamed to imagine. The life of his father leaving their presence. This world. No. It had not been something he had expected. Always had it been in the back of his mind that one day it would happen. Not so soon though. Why so soon? It was still fresh, the wound in his heart. An empty place that his father now filled. It was heavy though. It was not in happiness right now. It was in sorrow. A part of why he was gone so long was to comfort his mother. Sharkie had taken it so hard and still she did. Polar felt better about leaving his mother in their capable presence now though. Sharkie was not so unstable that he didn't trust himself to leave her there with them in the Cove.
It was no longer his home though. It just felt empty now without him. Solomon was gone now and Polar had to find his own path. That was with her though. That was with Asphara. Till life took them from this world. Polar would be with her. "I'm sure you have heard the passing of my father; Solomon? That is a part of the reason I was gone so long. It was rough on my mother. I feared for a while leaving her side. I trusted no one else but myself to pull her from the darkness that threatened to swallow her whole." It was only a partial explanation but it was something right? It was the truth if only a part of the story of his absence.
"I wish I could tell you more but I've no more of the story that makes sense in my head. I can't explain what else drove my absence. Only that I am back now. To find a home and to share a family with you Asphara." Gently his head came up and that velvety nose moved to find her. To share an embrace if she would let him. Warm breath left his nostrils in her direction and should she allow it then, his nose would gently brush along her cheek. "My home is wherever you are." Polar was sincere. He meant that as true as anything could be. He loved her then, and he loves her now. Replies:
