It was quickly becoming clear that Isla didn't have much longer to decide what she was going to do. Not only was the spotted stallion refusing to be turned away, but it was evident that his patience with her stalling was wearing thin. She didn't
want to go with him, but he'd tricked her into thinking he was harmless with his slow approach.
"Oh I'm not in a playful mood, promise." She answered shifting to keep him squarely in front of her as she puzzled over what to do next. Isla feared that if she went with this man, it would be like exchanging the Lagoon's yoke for someone else's and she was not keen on the idea. Although there was always a possibility that he had a real personality beyond this menace he seemed to be exuding, she did not wish to be the guinea pig to find out.
"No," she said calmly, fur still bristling across her skin.
"You have a long journey, lad. I'll be staying here, or in the Peak." Claiming a membership to the Peak was not exactly truthful and if he was observant he would notice that none of the valkyrie's scent markers were on her coat, but it was a last-ditch effort to dissuade him.
"If I see any lasses seeking your kind of charm, I'll be sure to send them north to the Inlet."
Again, another lie. This one, at least, delivered with a terse smile that did not touch her eyes. She would not wish any other mare to be beneath these soulless eyes either, even if it would save her own hide.
