Helios prayed for patience and strength from whatever gods might be observing this encounter. His resolve did not quaver as the brute huffed a hot breath so close to his own face. It was quite obvious that Lucifer had no desire for peace, least way not from him. The brute had become fixated on exacting the notion of revenge on someone and been thwarted by death. Peace, then, was not the goal, but passable neutrality.
"Come spring, you would retain the service of my son, Akkadian. For a year, he would be bound to live with you and your lot and to provide whatever service you would have of him that Romaro cannot now fulfill." Helios had faith that his spotted colt could withstand the harshness of the figure that stood before him. Mazikeen, it had seemed to him, was made of a tougher stuff, and he had faith that the qualities he valued in what he knew of her had been passed onto and taken root in their son.
"He's a strong lad and would be two that season, which is why I would have you return then, so that he would be of age to serve as you see fit." The Dunes lead paused a moment then, adding another comment that might persuade the black in some small way. "You may be able to teach him things I may not be able to -- I will grant you that much." Narrowing his gaze, the copper male watched Lucifer closer still. Would the promise of a mind to mold, a body to do his bidding be enough?
