A deep breath in and then out.
Nyxx had not allowed herself such a luxury since the demon had come to possess the Ridge. Although she called the entirety of Atlantis her home, not anchored to one particular territory, there had become a pivotal point that often drew her like a magnet to its core. Not often heard, and even scarcer seen, but undoubtfully there nonetheless that she would not forsake or flee from. Even with all the changes in leaderships; kings and queens coming to pass, Nyxx knew there would always be that one constant.
The midnight mare did not seek him out now that it had become safe to do so. Instead, she ventured from the confines of the jungle where she had tucked herself away in the shadows for countless seasons, and now ached for the open air upon the beach. The moon washed sand and glinting waves as they lapped upon the shore felt like a summoning, and the mare went to it without hesitation.
As she reached the frothy edge, Nyxx stopped, finally allowing her blue eyes to cast a glance over her shoulder. Had he followed her on this full moon night? Or had someone else decided to follow her instead?
