GUIDELINES
common sense, really
i. the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
ii. anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
iii. adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
iv. the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
v. the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors

The Savanna had been peaceful, and truly that was all that Zira could ask for. There had been no threats or issues on the horizon, but that did leave Zira with the feeling of dread. As if the world was merely lulling her into a false sense of security before everything changed. The news of a power shift on Luthien had intensified such anxieties and the golden mare found herself fretting and pacing. Zevulun had been getting older and she knew enough about him that the safety of his herd was paramount, she did not think him so bold to put them in danger if he was not up to leading. But, she had also expected Castillon to be the one to take over. The Prairie had been the first safe place Zira had even if she did not think back fondly on her time there any longer. The name was familiar to Zira, of the stallion who had stepped, but she could not remember why.

"Just get it over with," she muttered to herself, pawing at the invisible border that separated the Savanna from the Thicket and the Forest. There had been a power shift in the Forest too, but it was a territory she was wholly unfamiliar with. One big change at a time, she decided, as she stepped into the Thicket. She could smell Sephiroth and his sub-leads, they were not too far, but none of them came crashing through the thickly populated trees to bother her. They had grown familiar with each other since Zira had taken the Savanna. She was not friends with them by any means, but she respected the trio of them, as much as she could respect men.

The walk is as peaceful (and boring) as the Savanna had been lately and Zira is relieved when she finally steps out of the clustered trees and into the Prairie. The sight and sounds of the territory was familiar, even if the scents had shifted. She had been welcomed here once, but she cannot help but feel like an intrusive stranger as she lingered on the outskirts, hesitant. Zira nickered, hoping Lir was close enough that he would notice her as she shifted anxiously on her hooves.
