The black beast that approached was like one made of nightmares. The red in his gaze, the scars upon his body. Even if he limped, Izumi was not delusional in thinking he couldn’t still crush her at any point he liked. It made the silver stallion not seem quite as bad, even if he easily quipped with a sharp tongue and a fierce gaze. Izumi wished she could ask Khyber just to take her back home. Faced with this sort of change; this unknown, it almost made the Lagoon seem like a better place. Having navigated it long enough and not being completely alone like she would be here; made it seem bearable despite the beauty that lay beyond the stallions in the dark green jungle.


Izumi realized then that they were all looking at her, clearly awaiting an answer. Though she had listened to what they said, the young mare never thought anything would be directed at her. Khyber would make whatever deal he’d come for and then abandon her to these strangers. “Me?” she squeaked out, realizing that sort of frightened behavior would do her no favors with these sorts of stallions. Dropping her gaze again, staring at her hooves, Izumi tried to humble everything inside herself. It was all out of her hands anyways, so why fight it? “Who ever is willing to take me in.” Izumi managed to say in a clear voice. It wasn’t what she wanted to say, but most stallions seemed to leave alone the meek mares. Bored by their lack of fire to play with and Izumi hoped to use this to her favor.
