What he had done was stupid, he knew that. However, Rutger stood in the falls with his head high and his ears on a swivel. He could not go back, not after what Beloved had said. It drove him nuts being called a traitor, but the lagoon had to realize… Tyr was not suited for their dark ways. He might be large and the old boss come to find out, but Rutger did not need to see his only relative he half assed cared for in the lagoon. He would rather Tyr be miserable elsewhere, but now he was here, without a home, once again a nomad.
Heaving a deep breath, Rutger shook his head before he lowered it to nibble at the grass. His lips pulled at the stems and stalks, trying to take whatever was softest. His long legs pushed against the reeds that curled around the pool of water at the base of the falls, but he did not seem bothered. His ears flicked still, but his eyes closed once he got a proper mouthful, savoring the sweetness of the foliage. He needed the sustenance and it was so much sweeter here than the Lagoon, but deep down he missed the brotherhood. He could not face them now though.
Lifting his head, Rutger turned to face the Peak. His tail flicked against his hocks before a call escaped his lungs. “Father?” He was sure Tyr would hear him and with this much distance between him and the Lagoon, he was not worried about them coming for him. They might if he ever ended up living somewhere as a true territory member, but for now being nomadic was easier. He could just vibe and make sure Tyr would be alright… even with Oswin being gone.
