Hearing Nico’s voice the colt grinned at first. I was looking for you he said slightly dejected by his admonishment. Momma’s still asleep and I didn’t want to wake her. it was partly the truth. Plus he didn’t think the surrounding lands could be that dangerous if Nico’s family lived here. However he wasn’t going to voice as much right now.
I’m sorry I thought it would be ok to come looking for you, I remembered you saying you weren’t going be far so.. the colt let the words trail off at that.
Then he smiled at Nico, apparently forgetting the admonishment as he asked Nico, I want to learn everything that makes you a good stallion and a good herd lead. Will you teach me? He’s not sure of Nico’s answer, after all he’s not Nico son and hasn’t grown up here. His mother once said he should have been learning how to be a good stallion from his father, but he’d never met his, he’d died when he was too young to really remember him.
Shuffling unsure he looks to the ground, the colt looking unusually vulnerable I know my father should have taught me all of this but I never knew him, he died when I was really little. Momma doesn’t really like talking about it, it upset her the colt’s voice is quiet and timid, a stark difference to how he is normally.
