If only we could turn back time, things could be so different. Posted on February 18, 2025 at 09:19:15 PM by Assassin
The fresian cross stallion had been dozing in the summer sun. He hadn’t let his guard down completely enough to sleep with his whole body resting, so instead he had dozed off standing up.
The few cuts and bites the other stallion had given him when he’d taken his territory stung like fire ants crawling over his flesh thanks to the salt water. He could have fought harder but in truth his heart hadn’t been in it. He was trying and failing at everything it seemed and now he was homeless to add to his misery.
His mood had shifted, becoming darker, more closed off and wanting to spend time by himself. We’ll he’d got his wish, because now he was all alone. No home, no friends, no purpose. For someone who had spent his youth obeying orders no matter what, it was hard not having that order, that control that came with knowing what you were doing and when.
Hearing commotion down by the beach he walked slowly until he could see two horses playing, with a third standing by. He guessed the third was the younger ones mother perhaps, something that was confirmed when the two of them left and the buckskin spotted mare was left alone.
He watched her as her demenor changed, something in him reconised that feeling of loss maybe. He didn’t know when he had started moving, his hooves apparently acting on their own accord until he heard her call out. He stopped and winced. If was no luck disappearing now though as she knew he was there, even before he knew he was there. He let out a sigh. Better get this over with he thought.
Walking out of the treeline he dropped his head low, trying to appear non threatening, when he actually felt like a naughty foal caught spying. Well actually depending on her age, it could be a little worse than that, but he wouldn’t think on that right now.
My apologies. I didn’t mean to seem to sneak up on you. I was watching you playing with the foal. Yes coz that sounded less creepy didn’t it! He almost rolled his eyes at himself. Sorry that came out wrong but……. he paused, trying to find the right words to say I’m going to stop talking now before I put my hoof in my mouth any more. He said with a shake of his head. Replies:
