Nightmares are dreams too
The blood he had nearly drooled for earlier now filled his mouth; the copper tange like wine to the stallion. The scent of the crimson liquid so sweet, he would swear it better than the flowers that bloom in Spring. Garmr should have done this before. Should have saved his time of chasing her for this delicious release that he had craved for season upon season. In fact, he did not see why he shouldn’t do it again.
When the little mare fell away from him for the last time, her body bloodied and broken, he stood panting as he looked down upon her. Ainaz’s blood speckled his face, coated his muzzle and stained the feathers upon his legs. Soon, he would make sure it stained the grass beneath them for seasons to come, until the winter snow covered it up and hid it away.
Sending the Peak a message was no longer his sole motive, as something selfish and sinister smiled in elation within him.
Taking a step towards her that would bring him to stand over her prone form, his green eyes glared at her, but didn’t seem to be seeing her.
Garmr, stop she says, but he does not. Lowering his head, it is clear he aims to take her throat in his teeth, but it is her next words that stop him. Hovering there, his teeth mere inches from her throat, Garmr feels as if someone has thrown cold water across his sweat slicked body. When had he become so hot that it dripped from beneath his belly and made his thick mane cling to his neck? He gives a few blinks, as if he is once again trying to come into focus.
“W-what?” It’s a choked sound that escapes him, as if he were the one beaten and thrown upon the ground. “You lie…” Garmr whispers, but the sound is vulnerable as if he wasn’t sure that was true or not.
