Boss's Decree

For every brother you bring into the Lagoon, you may have a trinket of your own. I will not touch, barter, trade, or do anything with them. For every foal you create that lives here in the lagoon, you must win a battle or bring in a new brother.

If neither of these criteria are met, come them turning two and remaining in the lagoon, they are mine to do with as I see fit.

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

She had continued back toward Khyber as he spoke, nerves still skittering in her barrel. Vogue didn't know what to make of the Marauder or what exactly it was she wanted from him. In the time she had lived with him in the Lagoon, the bay hadn't gotten to know him any better than their seasonal intimacy allowed. He was often busy with his duties or his other trinkets, and it wasn't like there was any kind of emotional bond between them. Then there was the promise he'd made, which seemed forgotten as well. The isolation of it led to Vogue resigning herself to being little more than a trophy he liked to look at once in a while.

'Is that truly so hard to believe.' Vogue supposed it wasn't, even though the mare doubted he had sought her out intentionally. "Perhaps not," admitted the mare softly as she stopped some yards away. Was it that she wanted him to seek her out? To be the focus of an intentional meeting instead of a coincidental passing? Or was she just lonely in the way she had been after Diomedes died, clinging to anything that might give her comfort and purpose?

The painted mare watched as he beckoned her to come nearer. Her dark-rimmed ears twitched forward, betraying the interest Vogue attempted to conceal. 'You could tell me more about this daughter I've been looking for?' It was harder to conceal her interest in that particular subject. When was the last time he'd asked about Versace? Brown eyes drop to the grass for a moment. She wanted to be angry, or indignant, even if she thought she wanted his company. Then the tobiano lifted her eyes back to his face, and that grin of his made her stomach tighten.

Her lips twisted into a smile the mare managed to restrain. "It's been a while since you asked me about her." Her tail swishes back and forth. The long black and white strands toy with the hook of the mare's hocks as she presses forward. The distance between them closes drastically before Vogue stops once more. Her red-brown eyes move from the painted stallion hardly a pace before her to the colt shifting in the overgrowth. Her countenance softened when looking upon the sleepy colt as he stretched in his sleep. Then, she thought of Versace and asked, still not looking at Khyber, "Have you looked for her?"
