No one is coming to save you,
Get up.
For a moment, his gaze simply tracks the two of them as they exchange information back and forth. Asmodeus held no real opinion of Lucifer himself, only of grim warnings delivered by a stallion that had shown initial promise before disappearing. And while the chimera wasn't one to pick fights where they weren't needed, he was a curious creature, and he did find it strange that the name kept coming up, often delivered with scorn, fear, or loathing. Once, Rougaru's name had been uttered that way in the Cove.
And now he was dead.
The younger stallion seems to stay quiet, absorbing the play-by-play between the other two, and were the spotted boy his own son, Asmodeus might have nodded in approval. Not because he didn't think the colt had anything important to say, but because the tension was rife in the air, and it seemed like his residency was somewhat in question. The chimera had interrupted at a seemingly delicate time.
Annubis' quip about a welcome basket earns a snort of amusement as his gaze shifts back to the silver buckskin, a lopsided half-smile on his lips. "No worries," he drawled, settling. "It's less of a welcome-to and more of a welcome-back anyway." It occurs to him as he watches the silvery buckskin that if the man is related to Rougaru - and all signs, thus far, point to a high likelihood thereof - he is likely related to Nyimara. This throws a different sort of wrench into his plans for the monarchy, and forces him to choose his next words carefully and to postpone his initial thought to mention the crown today.
"I think we might even have been neighbors once upon a time, back when Rougaru stalked these jungles and Xiomara along the shore." Not yet a full admission of who he was, but enough that the Paradise lead might be able to piece it together. The buckskin seemed slightly older, and not likely to have paid attention to a set of twins from a land not his own, but stranger things had happened. He wasn't certain how well-known his mother's abdication to the Cove was, nor was Solomon the only stallion to sire tobiano children. "Much, of course, has happened since those days."
He shook his head, flicking his dark tail across his haunches. "But that's a conversation for another day, when I'm not interrupting your interrogation of a hapless young stallion." His gaze slid back to the young stallion who still seemed wise beyond his years and then back to the silver stallion. Already his weight was shifting, feeling as though he'd made his introduction as painless as possible, and preparing to leave. "If he kicks you out kid, stop by the Shore on your way out."
Asmodeus didn't have a spare ranked position for the spotted colt, but he had a feeling there was plenty the two of them could learn from each other. As it was, he would leave if Annubis dismissed him, or stay to continue the conversation if he chose, but he did not intend to overstay his welcome at first. Better to test the waters than to find yourself neck-deep in a snake pit.
