Eriana doesn’t expect him to do her any kindness, but when he settles himself down on the ground next to her, it nearly startles her. The tender touch upon her cheek where the tears dampen them nearly makes a hic of a sob escape her, and she struggles to keep some control over her spiraling emotions. Don’t leave me alone she wants to plead with him, but again she can’t find her words. Not trusting her voice if she did try to speak.
The warmth of the stallion being so close beckoned to the young mare, and at first she tried to deny her desires, but in the end she could not. “You always have to save me…” From the very first time they met, to when they had met again in the Commons, and even now. “Am I ever going to get to save you?” Her voice still wobbled from the tears that continued to fall, but at least she had not succumb to the sobbing she had felt nearly happen.
