To be more than a conqueror Posted on April 28, 2025 at 01:18:58 PM by Nicodemus
Time shouldn't be wasted. This is something he learned from this ordeal with Raini's capture. He shouldn't wait to tell about himself or how he felt about his herd. Raini speaks thanks to his sister and adds a comment about Tino. He head only shakes slightly. Parvati was a hardier character than himself. She has birthed many child with different personalities and even had a couple grandkids she helped care for. Parvati is fierce and strong, it was no secret that Nico admired her strength.
Once Raini agrees to hear his solemn story he tries to mentally prepare himself. His eyes close as he clears his throat. "The Inlet is important to me and my family. This land has been in my family through many generations,
some very distant from my own bloodline, but family all the same. I am glad our child will be born here like many before." He smiles lightly as his eyes slowly open to gaze into hers. He was happy to know that their child would be born on the Inlet among his ancestors.
Still, that happiness did not over power the hurt of loss he felt right now. Maybe Raini being taken had sparked something. "But the Inlet is not always safe. Like most of the other herds there is always danger to watch for so we must keep our young close until they can defend themselves." Raini knew this considering how close Tino and her were. "My sister Paravati passed the Inlet over to me when she decided being a leader was too hard of a burden. She was successful in her rule and even nearly died protecting this land from an invader that wanted it." He takes a breath.
"I had someone by my side that I loved dearly. Her name was Lucine and as soon as I took over the Inlet she agreed to be my lead mare. She birthed my two sons, Ganondorf and Augustus. " His eyes drop to his hooves as one scrapes at the dirt and grass below. "I was teaching Ganon to be a leader one day with Augustus as his co-leader. I thought it would be awesome if they could work together to keep this place. Then one day Lucine and Ganon dissapeared." His eyes begin to water.
"It took me awhile to find them, but when I did it was too late. Wolves had gotten to them." The sight flashing in his mind was grueling. A sight no one should ever have to see of their loved ones. His heart squeezes as his eyes find Riani. "I understand your loss and I dont want you to see anymore of it. We will teach Tino and our child how to be safe wherever they go." Replies:
