Not sure if that's a consideration for you with your back pain. I've ridden one home from work across Ann Arbor a couple times and had to carefully avoid potholes and such.

We were on vacation in SD in 2019 when they had the pilot program with LA as first in the US. It was the wild wild west. They had zero geofencing, or governors. People were busting down the PB boardwalk at 25mph. We road them one day all the way from La Jolla to the zoo, including on some paved walking / biking trails.
