GUIDELINES
common sense, really
i. the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
ii. anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
iii. adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
iv. the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
v. the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
whispers in the tall grass

When the figure gave no reaction, the sable paint assumed with an cultured nonchalance that the other resident simply had not heard him. A younger Lir might have spiraled, perceiving the lack of reaction instead to be a slight. The stallion that now ruled the Prairie acknowledged the memory of his anxieties with a slow exhalation that made his white nostrils vibrate softly. For a long time, the paint had doubted himself and the unspoken motives of those around him. It had taken time to cultivate the courage to have faith in himself, though it had largely been jumpstarted by the departure of his immediate family. Rich, hazel eyes drifted from the figure across the rolling hills to swing south.

The Prairie formed the crown of Luthien, being the northernmost territory. Its southern border was largely shared with the Forest, which was ruled by the mare Baba Yaga. The last eastern most strip of borderline touched the Thicket near where the northern inlet met the Thicket's main river system. Lir had yet to meet the new leader there, to his dismay. Much like the Prairie in the north, the Savanna made up Luthien's southern side, bowed by the curve of its bay. There, Zira's reign still held on. The sable stallion's head bobbed in silent agreement with a thought, and he moved forward into a slow, steady walk heading south.
