The young stallion stared at the foal a few moments longer before his gaze flicked back up to her mothers, he nodded she’s so little. Like Stormy he said a small smile on his face. I’m always worried about hurting him by accident, just coz of how small he is he replies, his gaze revealing how out of balance and unsure he was currently feeling.
His head swivelled, eyes searching all around for signs they weren’t alone, not finding anyone except the 3 of them he went on with the friendly chat, needing to talk about his worries before they consumed him Nico said he wanted to adopt me, to give me a father figure he all but blurts out, wincing at how stupid that sounded to his own ears. Still he continued, it would be useless not to now I never knew my father, he died when I was very young, mom told me he did it to protect me, to give us time to run his gaze was on the floor, hoof ideally shuffling dirt around but with Nico, I’m not of his blood, unlike Stormy who is his real son.
Tino was normally so confident and assure of himself that it was rare to see the young stallion appear so vulnerable. I’m just confused, why would he ask for that when I’m not his blood. When he knew that mom was carrying his child anyway. The sheer confusion evident in the young stallions voice I did wonder if he only said it to try and distract me from follow him when mom was taken he admits, looking back up to Parvati.
He was pleased to have a little brother but there was a niggling doubt to him that wondered if he would get forgotten about. For so long it had just been him and Raini, then Nico brought them into his life and everything had changed when he had been apart from his mom for the first time. It had unnerved him, left him feeling off balance, because other than being Raini’s son, he didn’t really know who he was.
He was silent, his mind running a mile a minute that he didn’t even notice that it was no longer just the 3 of them.
