Why is the Split Placement so rare in Long Court Jai-Alai?

At Magic City, the Split Placement shot is often used to devastating effect. It is highly effective in the smaller area of the short court and so in theory, it should be even more effective on the larger court with more area to defend.

But usually when it is thrown on the large court, the player apologizes, like it is bad form or they just got lucky. But split placements can be very much intentional. I see no reason that they should not be used more often or that they should be treated as lesser shots.

In addition to scoring often, they are another thing that the defenders have to watch out for. It adds variety and tactical possibilities to the game. In short, it is a great shot and unless I am missing something elementary, I think it is a waste that it is not used more on the long court.
