Having heard the call it wasn’t Amberlyn who came running first, Midir had been wandering not far from where his mother was grazing when he heard the stallions call. With a quick glance towards his mother who had also taken notice he grinned before taking off as fast as he possibly can.
It didn’t take the colt long to reach his father as he exploded out of the trees, almost tripping over himself before launching himself at the much larger stallion.
It was a play tactic the young colt had started doing, though only with his father knowing there was no risk he could knock him over. His rear with pretty useless with the size difference but still the laughing colt tried pushing himself against his father Hi Dad he said energetically, bouncing on his hooves can we play? he asked enthusiastically as Amberlyn moved quietly into view, humour in her gaze as she watched their son, knowing what his playful nature was like.
She smiled, moving honey coloured eyes from the colt who has gotten her colourful pelt to the sable stallion Dagda she greeted before her gaze move back to their son, who had stopped annoying his father long enough to trot over to his mother and greet her. Amberlyn dropped her head, brushing her muzzle gentle over his as he attempted to catch strands of her mane in his mouth, with a chuckle she retaliated, using her muzzle to mess up his own much shorter mane.
Tossing his head the cream coloured colt ducked out from under his mother, turning and rearing up playfully. Amberlyn smiles at her son before glancing back to Dagda. She was about to ask why he had called her but instead she tilt her head Dagda, is everything ok? She asked a little hesitantly.
Glancing back to their son she wasn’t sure what to do next. Not wanting to place their boy in any situation that would be uncomfortable for him she opted for trying to get him out of earshot Midir why don’t you go and see if there’s any other youngsters nearby who you can play with she said with a smile, having to keep that smile in place as Midir shifted his focus between his mother and father, uncertainty and suspicion in his young gaze.
Amberlyn glanced up at Dagda, waiting to see if he would try to insist the boy leave or not.
